The Sea view Hotel

Client: Seaview Hotel, Worthing

Project Overview:

The Seaview Hotel in East Preston, a beloved seaside establishment with a rich history, approached our team as we they were looking for architects in Worthing with a vision to expand and enhance their property by adding eight additional rooms on the second floor. The objective was to seamlessly integrate this expansion with the existing structure while preserving the hotel's unique coastal charm and offering guests breath taking food and atmosphere and since they have opened they have established themselves as the best restaurant in east Preston.

Challenges:

  1. Preserving Coastal Charm: The Seaview Hotel is known for its picturesque coastal location and timeless charm. Our challenge was to design an expansion that not only met the client's needs but also retained the hotel's character and ambiance.

  2. Optimizing Sea Views: Given the stunning seafront location, maximizing sea views from the new rooms was a top priority.

  3. Sustainability: The client desired an environmentally responsible design that aligned with Worthing's commitment to sustainability.

Our Approach:

1. Coastal Aesthetics:

We meticulously analysed the existing architectural elements that defined the Seaview Hotel's charm, such as its traditional façade and coastal colour palette. We incorporated design elements like scooped Mediterranean style balconies, shiplap siding, and large curved windows to maintain and enhance the coastal aesthetics.

2. Panoramic Views:

To optimize sea views, we designed each new room with large, floor-to-ceiling windows and private balconies. These elements provided guests with unobstructed vistas of the East Preston coastline, allowing them to connect with the serene surroundings.

3. Sustainability:

In line with out commitment to sustainability, we integrated eco-friendly features into the design. Solar panels were installed on the roof to harness renewable energy, and low-energy consumption fixtures and insulation materials were used to reduce the hotel's environmental footprint.

Results:

The Seaview Hotel's second-floor expansion, guided by our architectural design, was a resounding success:

  • Increased Revenue: The addition of eight new rooms significantly increased the hotel's revenue potential, making it a more profitable establishment.

  • Enhanced Guest Experience: Guests now enjoy not only the traditional charm of the Seaview Hotel but also modern amenities and unparalleled sea views, leading to positive reviews and repeat bookings.

  • Sustainability: The eco-friendly features contributed to the hotel's commitment to sustainability, aligning it with Worthing's environmental goals.

  • Community Impact: The Seaview Hotel continues to be a cherished destination for locals and tourists, contributing to the local economy and preserving its historic significance.

In conclusion, the Seaview Hotel's second-floor architectural design serves as a testament to the successful integration of modern expansion with historic charm and environmental responsibility. It has become a beacon of coastal elegance, offering guests an unforgettable experience while maintaining its position as a Worthing icon
